How Can constipation Along With Abdominal Bloating be Treated?

I have had discomfort on my right side for the last few days. Originally, I noticed mild pain in my groin that eventually traveled up my right side all the way to my stomach. While this was happening, I noticed that I was constipated (very rare for me). There was increased frequency in belching, and I was passing wind with no problem. Dr. suggested a laxative, which relieved any bloating system, and felt much better as my bowel movements returned to normal. But there has still been residual cramping or tenderness. Yesterday my stomach was bothering me; today I feel mild pain in my groin area. Everything seems to be moving or shifting to a different symptom.
